Miranda Savage is a Canadian painter born and raised on the west coast of British Columbia. Her main source of inspiration stems from nature and her love for animals. Both these passions are immersed throughout her work.

Another pillar of inspiration comes from her late grandfather who was a landscape painter. He encouraged creativity at a young age by letting Miranda paint on blank canvases in his studio. This freedom to get messy and be curious is a huge component as to why she fell in love with making art in the first place. He was one of her biggest supporters and being able to keep his legacy alive through paint is truly an honour to her.

Miranda`s creative education then progressed at Kwantlen Polytechnic University where she studied art history, print media, film photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. Here she learned invaluable skills and techniques that are used throughout her practice today and where she graduated with a Diploma of Fine Arts in June 2019.

Shortly following graduation, Miranda became a visual art instructor at EJS School of fine arts in Surrey, BC. Where she teaches aspiring artists ranging from 4-25 years old all about the fundamentals of drawing, painting, and ceramics. Being able to share her passion for creating while encouraging the next generation of artists is truly a dream come true.

When Miranda isn't teaching art, she can be found working on many ongoing commission projects including one of-a-kind pet portraits, landscapes and even the occasional wall mural!
